On December 30, 1906, the annual meeting of the Muhammadan Educational Conference was held at Dacca. Its chairman was Nawab Viqar-ul-Mulk. Almost 3000 Muslims from all over India joined the conference. At the Simla Deputation Muslims realized the need for a political party. Therefore, Nawab Salim Ullah Khan presented a proposal for establishing a political party to safeguard the interests of the Muslims. This is how the All India Muslim League was born.

In addition, Sir, Agha Khan was chosen as the first president of AIML. Moreover, its rules and regulations were drafted by Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar, they were contained in a brochure called the Green Book.

To promote feelings of loyalty among the Indian Muslims towards the British Government was another important objective of the AIML. It was the need of the time. The reason is that Muslim leaders wanted to earn their trust to get their demands met.

The All India Muslim League was the forerunner of the Pakistan Movement. It played an important role in the independence of Pakistan. Additionally, this party worked for the protection of the rights of Muslims and tried to safeguard them.
